FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — New England Marahi Mandal will present a Bharata Natyam dance performance on February 9 at Keefe Tech on 750 Winter St., in Framingham.

The performance will include a Nrityaganga recital by Aparna Matange, who is the first pupil to learn the fusion dance form from teacher Sucheta Chapekar.

The event is in honor of Sanskrant, the first Hindu festival of the solar year which falls on January 14. In Maharashtrian, the festival is to celebrate both the young and old and recognize the passing of time as well as our own mortality.
