To begin with let me ask this. Did you know that the car you are driving cost the company less than $2,000 to manufacture? I bet you did not. Now, didn't you pay like $20,000 for that car? That's because the car manufacturer has to pay its employees, R&D, maintenance, advertising, accounting, shipping and the list goes on. That's why they charge what they do. Fortunately for them it has become an industry norm today and that's because there is no ad on Craigslist saying someone can build you a car for $2,000. Unlike that, however, the photography industry does not have a set norm, because today everyone who has a digital camera thinks he can take pictures. This is making people feel that professional photographers are charging much more than they should which is a big misconception and I'll tell you why.

When you start to plan your wedding, you may have ideas of different things you want to have — cakes, clothes, flowers, décor — but the one thing that most brides-to-be have trouble with is creating and managing a realistic budget for everything. Shaadi Bazaar is hoping to change that with continuing support from you, our community of recently married couples and network of wedding vendors. Last year, we created an anonymous survey asking recently married couples about their wedding budgets in great detail, which month they were married, number of guests, vendors they would recommend and not recommend and today we are sharing those statistics with you.

When it comes to a wedding the sheer amount of planning and details and important decisions is exciting, but sometimes overwhelming. And while there are so many choices that will add up to the perfect big day, when you talk to the wedding experts one of the key parts of the wedding planning process is the wedding food tasting — a time when the bride and groom get a chance to experience what their guests will on the big day and make sure it is exactly what they are looking for.

Every person wishes to find their soul mate and desire to spend a quality life, have a happy and successful marriage and a family that gives a reason to smile. In this era of information technology, matrimonial services widely shifted their base from newspapers and magazines to matrimonial Web sites. However, while users are looking to find their life partner, add happiness and someone special in their life. It goes without saying that wedding planning is a crucial component of making that big day full of memories to last a lifetime. And while most wedding planners can quickly check off a list of the main things a couple needs to consider when planning a wedding, it is also very important to consider that the relationship with the wedding planner is critical also — as such, a couple should make sure their wedding planner is a good fit.

Nobody wants to think of the possibility of getting jilted on their wedding day. The day is supposed to be magical but, as smart shoppers know, anything can happen — even on your Big Day. From a sudden cancellation to stolen gifts to a damaged gown, wedding insurance can help protect you against the unforeseen, and can also afford you great peace of mind. The wedding date has been set, the venue booked, the colors definitely chosen, it is now time to think of the flowers for the wedding. Flowers are such an intimate and elegant part of weddings — more so at Indian weddings. As my friend Ann had once exclaimed, "I want my daughter to have an Indian wedding with all those gorgeous flowers everywhere from the bride and groom to the whole place. So beautiful, so fresh, so fragrant."

February brought no snow, sunshine and travels from Boston to Delhi in quest to find the latest in Indian designs.

In Delhi, the weather was mild every where and plenty of beautiful flowers were in bloom and for display. The wedding season was on in full swing and limos are vying with horses in the capital, decorated to the hilt. We were able to hit a couple of the hot spots — the Blue Room at the Taj and the evergreen Delhi Gymkhana.
